Smartprofit Finder AG was founded on a straightforward conviction: clients are better served when investment judgment is independent and the analysis behind it is transparent.

Origins

A firm that began with one dissatisfaction.

The firm's story begins in 2006, when an MIT graduate working in Silicon Valley joined the largest Swiss bank. Seeing how narrowly information reached clients, the founders of Smartprofit Finder came together around a single ambition: to give clients the same analytical clarity that institutions keep for themselves.

Today Smartprofit Finder AG is an independent portfolio manager authorised by FINMA and supervised by AOOS, with headquarters on Bahnhofstrasse in Zürich and an operations office in Bäch. Client assets remain with established custodian banks.

What distinguishes the firm is the combination of senior investment leadership and institutional risk technology built in-house. That pairing is unusual for a firm of our size, and it is deliberate.

Founder and Chief Executive Officer

  • 01Investment executive with more than 20 years of experience in Swiss and European private banking, asset management and family-office advisory.
  • 02Before founding Smartprofit Finder, held senior positions at UBS Wealth Management, Credit Suisse, Santander and Banque Internationale à Luxembourg, advising global family offices and HNW and UHNW clients on investment strategy, portfolio management and complex cross-border wealth requirements.
  • 03Previously led an asset-management company regulated in Luxembourg.
  • 04Holds a PhD in Economics, an MBA and an MSc awarded magna cum laude, and is a graduate of London Business School.

  • 04Published in PC World and MIT Technology Review; coined the term “Zero Knowledge Privacy” (US Patent Grant 9203610).

  • 01ETH graduate mathematician and technologist with 32 years of professional experience in the Swiss financial industry.
  • 02Experienced in big data and non-structured databases; expert in the Kdb+ column-based database with extensive software engineering experience across trading, credit risk and portfolio management.
  • 03Former UBS Director and Vice President at Credit Suisse; awarded for his work in pricing derivatives and exposed a multi-million trade fraud through detection of dis-symmetries in the forward rate agreement.

  • 01Certified Tax Advisor, Executive MBA and MA in Economics with over 25 years of experience in operations, finance, risk management, compliance and corporate governance.
  • 02Before joining Smartprofit Finder, served for ten years as COO and Head of Finance and Risk for a single-family office managing private investments across 19 entities; earlier roles included Finance Director, M&A Strategy Lead and Executive Board Member at one of Poland’s largest publishing houses.
  • 03At Smartprofit Finder, oversees operations, risk frameworks, compliance structures, internal governance and regulatory coordination, and acts as a key liaison with institutional partners, legal advisers and supervisory bodies.
